As the screen shift to color Dorthy begins her journey to Oz, or at least that’s how I remember it. However, as memories fade, the stories start to fade, leading to a new strange phenomenon, The Mandela Effect. Stemming its name from the famous political leader Nelson Mandela who passed away in 2013 only to spark controversy as people remembered him dying in prison in the 1980s. From this, more similar occurrences came out where a large portion of the population will remember something that never happened. An example being the famous blue jar of Jiffy that has never seen the store shelves, only Jif. From stores to screens, there are countless examples of titles that have changed, Lines that were skipped, and even full scenes cut out. It now becomes a challenge to remember what is real and what may have changed.
